Default "Smiley" number plates

Hi,

I used to hear mention on the forum of an internet supplier for smiley number plates, I don't recall the company name.

Does anyone know of such a thing?

If you are referring to Hardridden, he's no longer trading, disappeared off Ebay and website set up after he left Ebay also dead. This place was recommended by Dallas.

used to be a ebay seller called hardridden who used to offer smiley plates for the 75/ZT. Personally I found his plates to be of very poor quality and don't last long in the warmer months.

I use demon plates now and found them to be very good. http://www.demonplates.com/

Another one for demonplates, I’ve used them for years and they give a good service and guarantee.
My only comment is the 75 smiley is slightly too big for the aperture and I’ve used the S Type Jaguar size for my latest 75 and also for the CLS

"Plates for cars" (www.platesforcars.co.uk) is another seller. I've had 2 sets from them in the past and found them to be very good on both occassions.

I can also confirm the the "smiley" rear plates they supply are the tradditional type with the thick clear perspex covering, rather than the more modern thin laminated style.

This is Ken (hardridden) site HERE. He still offers the small MG Rover badge and logo along bottom line if anyone is interested.

Ken's smiley plate is made using the yellow reflective stuck on black ABS plastic, its not the best method but my rear smiley plate still looks ok after two years. Ken's front plates are made using the traditional method, the white reflective is stuck behind the clear acrylic.

I had a rear smiley plate from Demon plates, they located the British Standard Mark and their web address at top right hand corner, big no no.

Didn't realise that was his "new" site. The one I found a link to was dead.

Many thanks for everyone's help.

I'll try Ken's site first.

The contact button on his website doesn't work, has anyone an email address for him?

Here you go...
[email protected]

If you want the small MG Rover logo text and postcode, usually you just click on bottom line when placing your order and copy and paste one of the following into the box...

LOGO: MGRoverLBOld
or
LOGO: MGRoverNew

The size is normally set to 10mm.

Thanks for that Dallas,

What's the difference between the two badges?
