Anyone tried these MAFs from Euro car parts?
Today I finally got round to replacing the intercooler o-rings and cleaning out the EGR. The car is better, but is still being hampered by running with the knackered MAF disconnected.
I know the general advice is to go for OEM (Bosch...and the correct Bosch!) but this one on ECP is half the price, with the same part number. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Ro...d3b40f9&000009 Has anyone bought one of these? Did it behave as it should or did it go out of spec as quick as the ebay 'specials'? |

I've tried several aftermarket MAF's over the years for the R75/ZT Diesel (not Ebay specials) & while they may work for a while (if at all), it doesn't usually last !
I wonder why they're supplying a Bosch number though ? I no longer mess about, genuine Bosch every time now. |

With the club discount at ECP, the genuine Bosch isn't extortionate.

For £255 you'll get better performance and economy for lttle more than a genuine Bosch maf. http://tuning-diesels.com/Synergy/Synergy.htm Otherwise only ever fit the genuine BOSCH one. Ron

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like it's a genuine Bosch or a synergy then. However my insurance company clearly already thinks I'm high risk despite 6 years no-claims and driving a diesel rover so I might just stick to the standard Bosch.

While the Synergy may be good, one should disclose it. InsCos being what they are will almost certainly see it as an opportunity to take more money from you.

Absolutely. The insurance campanies will (rightly) refuse to pay out if mods are not declared.
