I unscrewed the MAF screws using a pair of wire cutters. The screws are rock hard and the cutters will skid off the heads a few times whilst trying, but a good grip and perseverance will pay off!

Then swap the original screws for appropriately sized self tappers.

I used an angle grinder to grind one of the corners off a 6 sided one-worked well.

I can't remember exactly what I did to get them out, but it was along the lines of using a dremel to cut a screwdriver slot across the head.

The screws are not really that tight, just very difficult to a grip of because they are so hard.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Default Free 5 sided torx bits

Just to remind everyone that you receive a free set of 5 sided torx bits when you buy a Synergy 2 and Pierburgh maf.

Decent of you Ron!
Makes it a bit expensive though when you've already got a synergy or are just wanting to clean your maf
