I agree, a few random engines failing the test means little, we need a database of many engines before we can say with any certainty.

Any number of things could cause a failure, the injectors may be poor, the way its driven may not help either, a good blast out down the motorway really helps a diesel clean up.

Yes, I forgot to mention injectors (poor spray pattern) and also the intercooler seals.
Recently we've had reports of poor fuel or perhaps its the increase in biodiesel content dissolving the gunge in the tank and fuel lines.
HGV operators are having to change their filters twice as often and in some cases the injection pump has been damaged.
Car owners are finding their fuel consumption has plummetted along with rough running and/or poor idling.

Ron - I tried sending a PM, but no reply....

Any chance of a replacement Synergy adjuster knob please?

I managed to loose mine when swapping batteries a while ago.

No visible smoke or soot on the bumper before fitting Synergy and none since fitting - Synergy set on Max/Max.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
