It’s not often I do the cooking but this evening the missus asked me to do just this as she had a couple of nice steaks which she prefers me to cook.

A few years back I got some very good advice on this from a Maltese friend who was in catering for most of his life.
I always tended to cook steaks long and slow but Joe taught me well to leave them till last ie after the potatoes and veg are almost ready then “ put them on the fire “ to quote Joe.
The result tonight along with a very nice Australian Shiraz was complimented by the “boss” so I must have got it right.

More “brownie points” for my next project

I had a go at an old fashioned rice pud. Ok but left it in the oven too long. Instructions were a bit vague, 90-120 mins, next time I try it'll be nearer 90.

I do mine in the pressure cooker, only takes 15 minutes. Only downside is there’s no skin lol
