Thanks Lates, A really useful link.

I am investigating various links in for my system to connect a generic MP3 player (I have this aversion to IPODS so do not want one of those).

I would not mind a generic mp3 player but would need to retain head unit / stg wheel controls, so if you get the solution first can you post it back up please ?

Yes, No problems.

At the moment my search is coming down in favour of a Dension Gateway 300. This has support for IPODS and generic MP3 players as well as USB sticks etc. With this you can retain all teh head unit and steering control functions but you lose the Multi CD player.

I believe others have gone this route as I am sure I did read something on here about it. (It may have been another forum however!).

Once I have made up my mind, I will post on here and let everyone know my verdict (pictures included).
