Factory Workshop manual vs. Haynes

^ which is better?

It has been a while since I've visited here. Good to see Rover/ZT enthusiasm still going strong.

I have both and since I got the red one I have not opened the Haynes... Nuff said.

I agree with you Gadgetboy, Haynes manuals have become less informative over the years and teh quality of Pictures within the manual is atrocious.

I did have a Factory Manual for my Rover 600 and it was far more superior to Haynes.

The factory manual is 20 bucks more than Haynes, but sounds like it's worth it.

My TV is great. It's the programs. There's a lot of rubbish on it.

I've bought both of them and TBH I dont actually rate either!!! :-(

As mentioned elsewhere Haynes manuals have really gone off the boil with very poor pics and sketchy detail.

As regards the Red workshop manual I hate the landscape format and find it a bit overwhelming in size and quite often spend quite some time looking through the index to try and find the relevant area I'm interested in.

Regard them as necessary evils so just take it on the chin like a man and stump up for both! LOL ;-')

The Haynes manual is terrible. Really, really bad. If you follow the manual's advice for removing the door cards for example, there's a very high chance of damaging yourself or, more importantly, the car!

The forum is my 'workshop manual' now.
