Never had any issues always found the site community to be friendly and helpful, I know a lot of people look down on Hobby caravans and known some sites to refuse them, they are the favourite choice caravan for 'The travelling community'

I have to admit,I don't like the Hobby,it's just so big and cumbersome , too blingy for me. Maybe Ronnie should get one

When I had a van, I never noticed snobbery of such, but can believe it exists.

The main thing that scared me was the shocking condition the combinations were in, clearly overloaded nose weights, car fronts poking in the air, inability to reverse.

Never had any issues myself - my van is 22 years old & everybody has been just as friendly as I normally find on the sites.

Must also say have meet more nice people than the keeping up with the Jones type.
Yes, these people are not proper camping types, they do not have the true helping sipirit of camping.

I don't care what others drive or what van they have, I form my opinion based on how they conduct themselves. I no longer go to camp sites and use only CL's.

The wife persuaded me to buy a caravan from her friend who had been saying how great it was but had to sell it. In fact I was a manky Monza 1400S but we had great fun, really great fun. We then upgraded after a couple of years to a swift Allouette had that for 12-15 years and again had great fun. 2 years ago upgraded to a new caravan as we could afford one and the wife wanted a separate shower and toilet. We still have the same fun but life is a bit easier with one or two mod cons. I liked the swift right to the end. I've gone from manky to new but the last thing I'll do is scoff at someone else, unless of course they just reverse like a total fool with the caravan attached.

I neither care or take any notice of what people think of my outfit. I like it and that's all that counts! If people need to keep up with the Smith and Jones that's up to them, and I wish them good luck.

People can be so rude. Working for a Ford dealership, I often get snide comments about my Rover. But I really couldn't care less.

People's ignorance beggars belief doesn't it!

Which Ford dealership are you at. I'm at Jermyn & Sons in Seaford, a retail dealer.
