Place in Port Talbot about £50 + vat per wheel. What wheels you got and how bad are they?

Hairpins. They've been curbed on every wheel and it looks as though previous owners didn't clean the wheels often because the laquer has lifted in parts on all wheels.

They are quite poorly. But look ok from a distance if you squint

I think the wheels are alright. I know what you mean about the having dark wheels that aren't just painted black. You've made a good call with the colour there because if they were black it would look a bit underwhelming.
