If you use the haynes info for topping up the clutch fluid then the clutch will never work again !! They tell you to put the fluid in the brake master cylinder !!!!
( Not joined to the clutch. )

I said it before and I will say it again and again, and perhaps someone ought to tell Mr H at the same time, his manuals are not worth the paper they are written on, end of story, don't waste your money , better still ask a monkey or any other small semi intelligent primate about how to service any car and the chances are they will be able to give you a better explanation than the corresponding H manual. There you have it, what else can a man say.

I've got both and use them both for reference, but the red one is better, although the photos in both are a bit on the small side. I do the research on the job by reading both manuals and looking on here before deciding to do a job.

I have recently replaced rear springs on my saloon, and the Haynes while I suppose is technically correct, it is a bit misleading and instructs you to do tasks that are not necessary, so making the job more complex than it already is.

I do think that Haynes had access to Rave/MG Rover manuals though when it was being written, as some of the wording is lifted verbatim. Look at the section on handbrake adjustment and it's word perfect.

My only bitch was the red manual was a tad pricey, but there you go. You either want it or you don't. The red manual is effectively a print of the PDF files that were on the Rave discs supplied to the dealers, and there was a huge amount of information therein, so the manual is what it is.
