Safest way to remove cover?

Hi members

Am getting a replacement chrome bullet wing mirror from e bay, have broken the one on mine so am just going to replace it, Are they easy to get the covers off?
Do they just pull off?
Advise Please as I do not want to break it before I get a chance to fit it

If they're anything like the scullcap type, you need an old credit card to shuffle around the edge and release the claws.
