Default Dolly wins a trophy

My 1982 registered Triumph Dolomite 1300 won Runner Up and a posh glass trophy at todays Bradford Classic Car Show. I am well chuffed. There were three categories, Best Mini, Best Jowett and the Runners Up prize which was best of the rest. This included some superb cars from the likes of Bentley, Rolls Royce, Nissan, Ford, Cadillac, etc. etc.

The judges were an electrical car part manufacturers owner, a motoring journalist and a retired race driver. They chose it because of its unrestored originality and my efforts in conserving this originality. So nice to see a low spec basic car recognised over the top specs and exotic classic cars.

The journalist has asked me to keep in touch with the intention of doing an article on the car and lower spec more mundane classic cars so often overlooked but the everyday cars of the past.

Well done!!

Always loved the Triumphs from that era.

Fantastic job keeping one not just up and running - but a prize winning one

Hi Bob,
Having been parked next to you at the Pateley Bridge meet I am not surprised by the decision. As you say the originality of the car is the key.
