I'd love to see some proper pictures...and I may have to ask if your friend will take a another booking in the future (I'm a few miles away but you can't beat a personal recommendation)

Its really not difficult to do it yourself, the problem is buying the bits you need first.
The trick to getting all the grime off is to use an APC (all purpose cleaner), the same stuff you use in the kitchen, basically Flash liquid or similar. It strips off all dirt, wax and oils. You then just polish it up by whatever means and top with a wax.

Silver as a colour is a mixed blessing. It never looks really bad because it hides swirl marks, but it rarely looks really brilliant either because it also mutes reflections. Dont use a wax on Silver, use a sealant instead.

Rovex CDTi is a class act. I've done half of what he gave me advice on "detailing", the other half hopefully will be done tomorrow (rain stopped play today).

I've already had two guys walk in the pub tonight and say "God your car looks brilliant, Bob". Big BIG smile so the info and effort is well worth while.
