Auxillary Belts
Hello and sorry to ask what is probably a basic question. I'm new to 1.8t petrol ownership.
I need to replace the auxiliary belts - the cam belt has already been changed recently - and already have the long one that goes around the power steering. However I believe that I should change the other one at the same time - the alternator/ compressor belt. Does anyone know what part I should order for a 1.8t? I cannot find it on Rimmers or alternative spares sites. thank you Dave |

To clarify, it's the long belt that I have, and I think it's the short one I need to order. If I could work out which.

This is the part you need: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...c1e6529e&_ss=r
Check the power steering pump belt, as these are often worn too. If you need one, it's PQS101450 from the drop down menu: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...12231993655397

Thank you both for your help
The belts are now changed. I attach a pic of the ones that come off, both quite perished. No idea how long they were on the car as I have only had it 6 months. |

The sizes are 5PK1200 for the alternator belt, and 3PK753 for the PAS belt.
I will only fit Gates Micro V and given the state of the auxiliary belts removed from your car, I'd be inclined to check the timing belt, irrespective of what the service history says Timing belt can be found HERE Brian |
