Not by a long way it seems, received renewal for home/contents insurance from the 4th Emergency Service (brokers) and with L&G insurance, almost accepted as seemed a fair price for cover offered.

Then decided on a whim to check out the Meercat, there were no less than 48 comparable quotes at seriously lower prices. Adjusted the cover uprating last years amounts and including things not taken last year, surprise, surprise, I saved almost 50% with same insurer against the quote received yesterday.

And bear in mind there were still around 20 quotes lower than the policy chosen, though providing only insurance equivalent to last year.
