Carla, what you have to remember is that all of our cars are now at least eight years old and have seen some action. Very few cars will look showroom spec at this age.
Your Monogram Typhoon is an eye catcher and will always turn heads. My ZT-T also needs work as I have peeling lacquer on the front bumper, but I still love it. Stick with it, and get yourself to a meet, you'll soon get some favourable feedback |

That looks brilliant after your hardwork. I've never seen a real car, ie one that's actually used, which looks as good in reality as it does in a photo. When I got my 2000, I was really bothered about any chips, rust bubbles, and little dents, but, now, the way I see it is that I use it as much as I can, look after it as well as I can, but cars always age, so it's to be expected. 75s and ZTs seem to clean up so well, even if they've been very poorly treated in the past!

Hi Carla
As i know only to well these cars can be a pain but as you say you bought it in a sorry state & from the pictures at the moment it isn't too bad at all. At least it's mechanicaly sound (i'd have given my right arm for that) If you've got it the best you can for now then use the car, keep it running right & get the dosh together for a spray job even if it takes a while. You end up with the car "right" in the long run. Not all of us are lucky enough to get our hands on "minters" & there's probably a lot on here who have taken quite a while to get their cars to the condition they are. If you go to meets & anyone genuinly "picks" on the car then they're not the kind of folks i'd want to associate with. Don't we go to meets to get together with like minded people, have a laugh & enjoy ourselves, not to worry about what others think. I had supportive comment, understanding & help as well as the neighsayers when i was in a similar situation recently & decided i'd "go for it" no matter how long it takes. I'm still in "phase 1" with loads more to go. Stick with it Gal. Regards Paul

Most of that would disappear with a good machine polish and some localised colour-sanding. Do you know any good detailers?

I'm taking mine to detailer Steves Cleanz in Tamworth. The stuff he can do with paintwork can totally transform your cars appearance.
http://stevescleenz.co.uk/index.php/...nt-correction/ Typhoon is very expensive paint to buy for corrective work like scuffs etc. Videos of his work can be seen here: Last edited by Canonite; 7th August 2013 at 19:53.. |

I've seen the Typhoon, it looked presentable enough to me. I suppose we could all highlight imperfections on our cars, but as previously stated most are daily runners and are all going to have the odd blemish.

I can relate to what you're saying CarlaLou. When I clean my car properly it's a several hour job and I can still look at it and think 'meh'!
The majority of the scuffs you've posted aren't significant and in regards to the the front bumper - I expect 99% of everyone on here has similar! Your car exterior looks top! My only suggestion, bordering on being made for the sake of it, is possibly back to blacking the plastics/ rubbers around the window and the mudguards and putting some tyre shine on?.
