Started with one in Florida two days ago, A Mercedes EQE set alight in a home owners garage & burned itself out, Lots of damage to the house too. The car wasn't plugged in & was a loaner car whilst hers was being serviced.

It is only speculation that this fire is from an electric car.
The insurance bill is going to have a few noughts at the end.

I dont think it needs much speculation,,,,EV,s are self combusting all over the world... One reason why I would never have one, I will stick with my tractor as long as I am able to

Dunno if it is fact but some industry or insurance body stated their were 10k ICE fires but less than 500 in the UK per annum. I'll post if I come across it again.

Quote from Reuters, "The coastguard said on its website Thursday the cause of the fire was unknown, but an emergency responder is heard in a recording released by Dutch broadcaster RTL saying "the fire started in the battery of an electric car."

To complicate things further, originally reported on 25 EVs on board, that has been revised to 498

I saw a report today by a well known BEV reporter saying it was hard to get a definite account of how many cars & how many different manufacturers models were onboard as they did not want to be named as the manufacturer who's car it was that started the fire.

Oh dear. One of the inconvenient messages in the post-event official comments was ‘water was ineffective in putting out the fires’.

So, any comments about 3P Fire &T anybody? A ‘rush to market’ is one thing, but as far as I can make out all this increasingly forced positive marketing hype is verging on criminal. Just in my sceptic view. Of course. I could easily be totally wrong.

By the way, I happen to have three golden chocolate hens left over from December. Santa blessed them and they are guaranteed to lay golden eggs given sufficient shredded fivers posted to me in Shangri lar. Bank on me shiner and you won’t go far wrong.

Sounds a lot like the ‘safe and effective’ marketing campaign.
