Battery/alternator tester
Can anyone please recommend a good car battery / alternator tester?
I know that the diesel batteries take quite a hit this time of year!

Euro car parts have an AM TECH one for £6:49. I have always bought and recommended FLUKE products, I have a 10+ yr old multi meter from them. Lee.

A battery needs to be loaded to test it correctly A volt reading is not a prudent way to test a battery.

I agree that is the only reliable method to test the charge holding and current supplying capability of a battery at a point in time. But, a battery's voltage can tell you a lot about it's and the charging system's health if reviewed over a period of time. For an easily accessible battery voltage indicator these CTEK connectors are excellent. I have them permanently wired in the grille area on two of my cars so they can be seen externally. https://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-Indica.../dp/B002MT8S7E |
