Good morning all, how is everyone? Yesterday, we had our first trip out in 6 months to the Nairobi Game Park to see the wild life. It’s 45 square miles big and Jessica did the driving. What animals did we see? Buffalo, Wort Hogs, Crocodiles, Giraffe, Gazelles, Hippos and many birds. Lion, Rhinos and Elephants, we did not see as we could not find them, even though they were there. We had a picnic in the park and the weather held, a lovely day. A birthday treat to myself from the 3rd of June

Then last night I received news from the UK, the key in the camshaft drive wheel, jammed in the drive wheel and broke off the end of the camshaft during the changing of the rear belt. It means the drive shaft etc will have to be replaced, before the belt can be done, but where to find one.

I am thousands of miles away from the car and feel a bit powerless. Cheers Ian, the mechanic said the metal was weak and brittle. The belt was last changed in 2010, so it’s long due. I had budgeted around £500-£600 for the change, now this on top......humph! The car is over 20 years old and I am hoping to get a few more years out of it. In 5 years time, I expect I will be driving a hybrid, but who knows. Maybe sooner than that if the old V6 has to be scrapped

Have a wonderful day in the garden enjoying the weather

I was looking through the folder of receipts that came with my Rover and it's done 26+thousand miles since the belt change but it was over 8 years ago.

Nice sunny day here. I should really tend the garden as for the same reason as mentioned by Richard earlier it is overdue some much needed attention - in essence too wet over the last couple of weeks. But it might have to wait as I haven't the enthusiasm to sort it today and other things are occupying my time. Might nip out to Tesco shortly mainly to get out of the house and stretch my legs but I wouldn't bet against returning home with a load of stuff that didn't really need to be bought - at least not by me lol.
