Hi Richard. Yes,there were lots of things eventually made for our cars abroad. The point is, if you want say a nut and bolt, you get them coming in from all over the world, mostly China, because they can throw them out by the million. Not that they are really anywhere near as good as ones that you can get made in this country. Problem being, the quality is about 10% of the quality of those made here. Price wise they are about one quarter of the price of those made here. The old saying ‘you pays your money and take your choice still applies’

It's that time of year for the battery maintainer to come off, give her a damn good snowfoaming & drive around the service road out back.
Starts first time & runs perfick. Blimey! is she low down to the ground when you haven't sat in it for a while.

Good vibes
Changed the lower engine mounting again.
At the 3rd attempt , all is well. 1st attempt was fitting a poly bush with the original insert and it was terrible, lots of vibes , rattles and clunking on gear changes. 2nd attempt was poly bush with metal insert , same result as 1st attempt. 3rd attempt , fitted one from mat and pleased to report no more rattles , no vibes and gear changes are nice and smooth. There is no damage on the poly bush and the only difference I can find is the width of the poly bush is 1.5mm wider and sits slightly proud of the insert Stan

John. All I will say is:- there are pessimist’s. And there are optimists. I am one of the later. I don’t fear a future anywhere.Hope it’s a good Halloween this year if you know what I mean..

Get genuine parts from Rimmers - don't make me laugh! I've had two pairs of OEM front drop links from Rimmers, the joints on two failed within a year, and one actually broke where the top joint was welded on (just), the rod end then damaging the ally wheel. Now will only use an apparent quality one from DMGRS. |

early start this morning. had a diagnostic lead left over from my bmw z3 days.
installed it on the laptop and installed drivers and toaf. connected 1st time and backed up bcu etc. turned off the annoying automatic heated rear window feature thats bugged me for 2 years. had a quick look around toaf and will have a play later....

Day trip to Hickstead to watch the showjumping. Great day out :¬)
Only saw one ZT (late blue one) behind me on the M25 and I was the only 75 in the huge, packed carpark. We're getting rarer.

£48 and around an hour, it has transformed the car, we have driven just shy of 400 miles today and it has been a pleasure.
