Superb mod and a very professional prototype -well done chap. If it comes to fruition put me down for a full cruise kit (without gesture sensor).

Excellent work, well done for your efforts.

As Rick says, there is another way to free up a clockspring pin, I was told of that method by a member who did lots of electrical mods to their car.

I would like a set including cruise but not gesture sensor (I have OEM Highline satnav).

Would you consider making a 'budget' cruise version for those who are happy to earth through the wheel, thereby not requiring the converter? I assume it would be a fair bit cheaper that way.

I am looking into this using a slightly different method to the one mentioned by Rick. Earthing through the wheel causes them to flicker (already tried) and it isn't really the way I like to do things, but I have something else in mind.

Question

Interested as well by the radio & cruise control without the gesture item.
It looks an easy swap but the two bits to fix on both controls.
I don't understand how it can be done: a bit fiddly maybe?

Thanks for the all the replies , I am looking at also doing a budget version which cuts down on the complexity for vehicles with cruise which I'd run alongside the full kit for those that still want the gesture sensor (you have to have the microcontrollers for that one).

As mentioned in my previous post, I have something in mind along the lines of what was kindly mentioned by Rick, will give it a go at the weekend and I'll report back.
