Talking Real Wood Dash

Hey guys! Do you know where I can find a real wood dash? I searched through the bay but I don't know whats the most reliable offer regarding being real wood!
Thanks in advance!

Cheers

If you can see a decent photo of the 'real' wood dash, the airbag logo on left hand side has been applied to the wood surface whereas in the plastic versions, it sits back a bit in the cover (impressed into cover). Changed mine for a real wood dash last year, for £30, very very impressed with better quality and feel of real thing despite the plastic one been a very good copy! (Also, the airvents on the wood version have no real gaps around them.)

Really nice indeed! Thank you very much!
I was told that the real wood dash would also stop some rattle coming from there that I'm trying to get rid of
I will searh through the bay having in attention that airbag detail

Did mine last month and it looks so much better. Its the second dash Ive replaced in my cars and thoroughly recommend it.

I noticed these are becoming rarer as is most 75 stuff on eBay compared to a few years back.

In addition to above please note the back of the real wood is reinforced with PERFORATED aluminum so check the reverse images too (ask for them if not supplied).

This one looks genuine for example

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F183605754391

It is not the whole dash though and note the hardest part to source is the real wood passenger airbag cover.

Also note that the cup holder and ash tray etc were never wooden.

At a Club National, I remember a talk at Gaydon by an ex MGR Homologation Engineer as to why they changed to plastic.

It was because the real wood difficult to make to the quality standards. At one point QA were rejecting in the region of 65%

In comparison to the plastic ones they were works of art, so worth getting your hands on one.

I fitted mine many years ago, and it's nicer, for sure, but... when we say "real wood", isn't it just veneer, a fraction of a millimetre thick...?

One other thing that might concern you is that the earlier cars had pink illumination in the little clock, the later cars white. I didn't know this at the time, so now have white-illuminated speedo/rev counter, and pink clock... I've grown to like it though
