Default Starmer and Rayner

I see the duo have taken a calculated risk and put their jobs on the line. Good for them and good for the labour party. In some ways a change in leadership could reinvigorate the party. Its certainly hugely different stance compared to the Tory Party. Sounds as if more fines are immenent for no10.

Another unnecessary diversion. Worryingly Burnham's name has already been mentioned:

https://www.braintreeandwithamtimes....-keir-starmer/

See the beeb have a story on it:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61383091

Not surprisingly no HYS on it though. Now if it had been a certain other leader????

Default Just maybe.

Lisa Nandy resigned a couple of weeks ago, it's no secret she'd like the job so watch this space. I personally wouldn't vote Labour but I think it's time for the media to move on and stop trying to destroy people, it seems that any politician that dared to have a beer at work is somehow evil. If that visit was legitimate then it's no-one's business what he could and couldn't eat and drink, there's too many people with a holier than thou attitude just now and they need to move on.

Read his statement carefully. He will resign only if he gets fined and Durham police are not retrospectively issuing Covid fines. A bit of smoke and mirrors.

Added to which of course, Durham is not necessarily noted for its even handedness when it comes to in-depth rigorous investigation of every individual. Unfortunately.
I sympathise with the electorate there.

Having said that, Starmer has now done a crafty move by letting all and sundry know, including police forces everywhere, that if he is fined he will resign.

So, a constituency susceptible to change, in a volatile climate with poll conscious officialdom of many of its departments, is made aware of the upheaval a guilty verdict would provoke.

Now that's a lawyer doing what they do best. Deflection with the right result in mind. Honourable? Not from where I'm sitting.

(I'm not biased either. Some of my much earlier experiences: Union branch secretary, chairman, conference delegate, in-house article writer.) Now there's a shock!

Hmmm...also known as a CPS failure. Legal profession, after the police are third in line of criminal fraternity (hard core criminals, police then legal)

Hoped for a lot more from the man to be fair. Sadly he seems to live up to his nick name of Cap'n Hindsight.

Or should that simply be Cprl Hindsight?
