ZT Leather\Alcantara re-upholstery
Hi all,
Has anyone ever had occassion to have a seat re-upholstered? Just bought an MG ZT and the bolster is shot and needs a repair. I'd appreciate your thoughts and any indication of cost. Whilst we're at it...what do wheel re-furbs cost? One wheel is particularly bad - suffering deep-seated corrosion. I appreciate cost is dependent upon condition prior to repair, a general idea of cost would be appreciated. ta, Godfer (Sid) |

Assuming your Alcantara is "Gunsmoke" (you haven't mentioned the colour) new covers are still available from Rimmer Brothers!
(I would normally post you a Link, but I'm currently posting from my phone!) As for wheel refurbs, don't pay more than £60 a wheel Inc vat. |

Not many new seat covers around try eBay type in 'rover 75 seat cover'
Or try mg rover part finder with the part number (you get this from rimmers site) Try traders on this site and rover specialist breakers This seat cover sounds rare to me so this may make scrapyards out of the picture.... The easiest option may be taking it to a car upholsterer. You could get the job done for under a £100 if you find a one man band operation and pay cash. |

Failing that, just put the part number into Google and see if there are any more out there anywhere! As for wheel re-furbs, just bear in mind that £10 of the £60 is now vat! |

Alas, the driver seat damage is the same as mine. Would the fact that my seats are electric and heated be a factor if I were to purchase these (or similar)? Could the mechanism etc simply be replaced if I can only source 'manual' seats? I think a re-upholster may be the best option. Godfer (Sid) |
