Default Molested or unmolested

If in say 15 years time you wanted to buy a classic car and for the sake of it a 75 or MG ZT would you prefure a unmolested (Standard car) or a molested car. with all the factory fitted equipment removed and the bodywork changed with aftermarket tv's spoilers, alloys etc and what effect will it have on the price comparison between the two cars, standerd v molested.
as and i am surmising hear ,but think the Classic car collector would go for the TOTALY ORIGINAL as it probibly be worth a lot more than a car without all the original bit's.

The reason i ask is as some of you are aware i hade a R5 GT-turbo with only 500 made on a j plate totaly unmolested and found out it was worth a hell of a lot more than a molested R5. and worth more again if i keept it....doh,.... looking for another R5 at mo, bog standard?

As an ex owner of Triumphs, you would go for a car with a spec that was as near as to when it left the factory. Failing that upgrades would be as would have been fitted by the factory.

Hi. A good friend of mine is into classics and without doubt the original version is worth far more and is the most sought after. My 75 is still original. I have resisted adding anything I can't take off again.

Depends on the car really I think, had a few cars, all kept standard, but then had a Manta GTE Coupe with full blown 400 body kit, 4 Cibie spots on the front, would not have changed it for the world, also a Escort RS 1600 fitted it an Escort cabby shell, also depends if genuine parts are fitted, or universal bits from Halfords.......

Talking of Unmolested
I just heard where there is an Original TR8 with under 2000 miles from new !!!! Now they were rare, (less than 30 Factory ones built)

If it is a convertible, then THIS is the car that should have replaced the TR6.........
