Martin, If thats the CDTi Diesel Turbo it sounds like a possible problem with Maf rather than just Turbo, as this causes all sorts of problems and doesn't like going to High Revs. No rev Limiter fitted, as I've gone all the way round for a few moments once! The Turbo comes in a lot lower revs than that more around 1800RPM I believe.
Most probally completely off track and should wait for someone to come along with knowledge on Turbo Problems and Cures. I do hope it isnt a Faulty Turbo...........Not Cheap! |

The gentleman asking the question has joined, so hopefully he will spot the thread.
PS, John, the clue was in the title! I should have mentioned it in the txt, too, though. But thanks for taking the time to post, much appreciated. |

Guess what!
My 1.8t does exactly the same thing! The VAC leads have been changed, which did not cure the problem. Looks like it could be the boost control valve that is playing up, but at £60ish its an expensive gamble. Other usual suspects are plugs, coils, ignition leads. |

sounds to me like the BCV and its soft cutting the boost for some reasona or another. Sticking valve?
Replace it, see how you go |
