This leak has been going on for years by the look of it
Finally got the carpeting out and found this:-
That rubber bung thing should surely be holding the heating duct down? This is the drivers side so from the rusting and damage I can only assume that this has bee soaking wet for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time. The passenger side:- Am going to have to clean up those connections and earthing points. Oh yes what is that brown taped up wire? Any one know? Again bung is not holding the ducting down. The carpets under foam insulation is well damaged and split:- Patches missing yet not in the car which make me further beleive this has been played with before by someone . Well there you go I have my work cut out here in treating and dealing with the rust and corrosion.

Excellent work there, see how the carpet is when it is dry, do you have a tow bar or power to the boot, the spliced wire looks to be power to that
Nice to see your having fun

Well there is the bar:- A previous owner had the hitch and electrics removed for some strange reason . Might be an ideal time to get it all connected and working again methinks.

That all looks quite clean when compared to my ZT.
Can be a bit of a ****** to do, I took all the seats out and went mad with the wet vac and cleaner. |

I cannot see the trace colour (Orange/what?) to be sure, but it seems likely it would be the large permanent live feed to supply towbar sockets.

well done now you can cure the leaks for good before refitting carpet. dont worry about the split foam ect it makes no difference once carpet is back in place

Now that Sunday dinner is out of the way I can try to get some of the water out of the foam..The only way I can think of squeezing it out is by laying it over an old pallet and walking on it.

Just look at it this way at least you've found it without any major serious damage done and you're putting it right, this will give you even more pleasure when driving knowing that all the jobs are done and you did them excellent work
