Default Rear hatch window rubber seal loose

Today I removed a bag from the rear hatch window and caught the bag on the rubber seal. The seal came right off onto the floor. It took ages to fit back on and is still loose. It seems too big almost.

Whats the best way to fit it back on as it isnt secure?

cheers guys

Ian

Having positioned it so that it is evenly spread around the opening, you have to "pat it down" into place with the palm of your hand. The edge that mates up with the metal aperture has hidden metal "clips" which keep the rubber tight. The hand pat may have to be quite firm!!

Been there ......

These hidden metal clips, are there many of them? Are the clips in the rubber seal or on the car body?

Actually hidden within the rubber, you will not see them. They can sometimes be too "spread" so a squeeze by hand will close them up to allow rubber to grip the flange better. With care you can roll the rubber down as you go, in that way you can see the rubber is properly placed either side of the flange.
