In all fairness Jeff, it doesnt matter how much it costs if it goes wrong people allways want to know why and what you are going to do about it. Getting back to the speakers you should buy a pair of the ripspeeds and try them you will be very surprised how they sound and the build quality.:xmas-smiley-024:

My Brother was a Manager at Halfords some little while back so I had some dubious pleasure of playing with some of their electronics .
Never listened to any of their speakers though.
Chances are they are manufactured by a well known brand and re badged and sold at a lower price point.
For the money you paid for them you can't go wrong really, your right that I couldn't sell speakers anywhere near that price point....well I could but we wouldn't be in business for long
