Lewis had pointed out that the exhaust was rusting, so today the old one was replaced with a new one. Even though Corin had fully serviced Ljay back in October, I had the engine flushed and the coolant replaced and topped up with the red stuff. There was no contamination. Some might say it is waste, but am aware that V6 owners recommend weekly checks if not daily checks on the coolant and the change has given me another base line for monitoring. The tyres are in pretty good shape with 8mm tread on both fronts, 7mm on one at the rear and 5mm on the other

Default Progress Report

The visit to Corin last week, did not take off for various reasons.

Today, I had LJ raised up on the ramp and underside inspected for rust. None found

Recent replacement of rear exhaust re-checked. All good and secure.

All wheels off. Discs and pads, all okay.
A few squeaks. Managed with copper grease and a few emergency stops! cleared them out.

I forgot to add, that after talking through a problem with Stocktake, I bought a VIS motor off ebay for 50 quid (the ad said it had been checked by Lates) should I need the old one to be repaired at a later date. I might never have to use it on LJ

7 months on after buying LJ from Lewis, LJ is still going strong with no major problems or expense for the time being. It has proven to be reliable for short and long journeys. The car is being looked after and driven now and again by a good friend whilst I am in South Africa. All in all, a good buy and great value.
