Crofts,if these walnut add ons were made to cover the showing black parts of the switches, the precision movement of the switch would not function correctly. If the outside edge was covered the switch body wouldn't fit flush in the arm rest.

This modification looks superb,it reminds me of the switches that were made available for the French market.A set was for sale in Belgium recently, reported by an overseas member, the price was about 400 Euros..

Hi Simon
Thought I would copy this to you as the most frequent complaint about your capping’s and those of Walnut Dash Co has always been about the poor fit of the door switch veneers.

Is it not possible to correct this ?
Kind Regards

Received the following reply:-
Hello David
The panels I supply are designed to fit to existing parts. They are flat and impossible to fold in two directions. The ones in the photo you sent me are moulded, they are produced in exactly the same way as your main dash and the other walnut parts in your car. The ones in the photo are manufactured by a Turkish company, and are very expensive.

Obviously he has not understood your post and I am probably a nana thinking you have produced a veneer that you then applied.
Am I right in assuming that you air-brushed the 'walnut' on to the black plastic surround. That would mean that even if you did decide to offer to other members you would presumably need the actual switches from the car.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
Dave
