Default Freedom of Speech on Forum

On this forum we can talk about:

Murderers

Gangsters

Child Killers

Robbers

Child Molesters

Thieves

Rapists

Drug Barons

But if a past member who was banned, is mentioned, it is wrong, and more likely, the thread will be closed.

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

I think the difference is that those types of individuals have violated society's rules.

By contrast, the banned members have consistently and repeatedly violated the rules of this club/forum.

Personally, I would be happy to have rules that ban all discussion other than about cars, tools and engineering.

What about cats? There is no harm in chatting about them?

its good to have a social section and talk about other things.
Of all the forums I belong to only one comes close, the rest are pretty poor as a comparison. Being able to talk about different subjects is what helps to make a good forum.

It is not for who they are it is for what they had said, rules is rules, although I dont agree with some of them.

Why do people talk about freedom of speech on internet forums?

You're allowed to say whatever you want, but if you stand in Sainsburys telling people things are cheaper in Tescos they aren't violating your right to freedom of speech when they kick you out.

Same thing here, you're free to choose to stick to the rules or you can choose to break them. If you choose the latter, the club can choose to tell you to leave - it has nothing to do with free speech at all

Let's hope no events ever come up in the month between April and June then, else we'll never know about them, or may not (can I say that?).
