Tom Tom Sat Nav xl

Hi all,
I have a TomTom xl sat nav(with european maps) which has stopped working,it is a few years old and i didn't use it in the last couple of years,the last time i used it was last September,it worked ok but the battery went flat whilst driving (usb came out and didn't charge ) and it turned off.
Now 6 months later it won't turn on at all,left it on charge for 2 hours,still would not turn on.
So i took it apart and got a new battery,fitted it and still it won't turn on,i have tried to reset it using a paperclip into small hole underneath but it still won't turn on.
Does anybody on here what to do? or can you point me to someone who could repair it.
