If the weather stays good at the weekend, I will jack mine up, release the bottom connection and see what is going on with the German set I fitted back in October. They are clunking away at the moment.
My feel is to go for the DMGRS 2 year £17.49 items and give them a generous dollop of moly grease under their boots first.

Just bought one of the DMGRS Longbridge links......I already had one ‘in stock’. Let’s hope they can do the 120,000 miles that the originals did

What, at that price????
No I used a pair of these ones LINK Principle is the same, provided the boots are secured at both ends with a wire clip, rather than o ring type gadgets, and the joint isn't welded to the rod with a merest snot of weld, then chances are they will work fine if greased before fitting, and the boot is not damaged during fitting. I'm sure the ones I fitted to the ZT were branded ACP or something similar, but that was five years back. Brian |

Well as they've managed almost five years of service without failure, then that make them better than the Delphi ones that lasted a mere seven weeks, or better still the genuine new old stock MGR ones that lasted fifteen miles
This was an experiment to see if the lifespan of the cheapest of the cheap could be extended with a smear of moly grease strategically placed into the wear points. It worked Brian |

The DMGRS ones look OK.
Avoid ones from Rimmers (and possibly elsewhere) where the top joint is fixed to the rod by two small welds. Mine boke off in less than a year, with the end of the rod getting caught inside the road wheel deeply scratching it. Check the quality of the rod to joint connections. |
