Vinyl LP's to CD's
Hi all,
Am hoping some PC experts out there may be able to point me in the right direction. I have a fair old collection of some old vinyl LP's which I would love to convert to CD format. I can tape them and play these in the car but would rather put them on CD so I can create my own compilation of favourite tracks. What is the easiet way of doing this what hardware would I require and what would be the most simple of software packages to use. I know how to burn CD's using mp3 cd to wav format but am unsure of how to get LP tracks onto my PC. Is there a HiFi system that has a record deck and a CD burner similar to the old HiFi's which had tape decks to record the LP's. Thanks to any one who can help. Cheers, Andy |

If you don'y have a turntable already then this this from Argos has a built in amp (switchable) so can plug straight into the PC's audio input. I use Audacity to capture, edit and convert to MP3.

Can I make a suggestion for a sound card. It walks over creative stuff as it uses proper RCA connections instead of dodgy 3.5mm jacks.
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...2496-main.html You can get these new for around £50 notes in the UK. A very very capable card. |

Hi Guys,
A big thanks to ColinB, PaulW and MGOracle, for the great web links. Only problem now is which way to go and which deck to purchase? Cheers guys for making life just a little more complicated but definately more fun on the way. Andy |
