Default FBH Water ciculating pump.

Can the water circulating pump fitted to the FBH be repaired/overhauled,if not has anyone know of a supply either buy/ service exchange. I know you can part strip them to clean them out,but it seems to be the motor side of the pump that fails........................Tom.

So far as I know, the motor side is permanently sealed and a brushless type motor, so not much you could do with it even if you could get in. Tour best solution would be to ask if anyone has an otherwise scrap FBH and ask for the pump from that.

The only other source will be Webasto and not cheap.

Are you sure its the water pump?

Have you checked it separately?

If the FBH is otherwise working, you do not absolutely need the pump to only use it with the engine running. The electric pump is only needed to use the FBH when the engine is NOT running.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I have a different type of FBH fitted to my van, it is one without a pump.

Originally it was fitted to another vehicle that would only use it when the engine was running.

I have fitted it with a separate pump so that I can use it as a parking heater.

As Harry says, if you are only using it as a heater with the engine running, the pump is redundant.

That is indeed the right pump.

Just when I thought I'd grasped the principles of the fbh, after a few slightly conflicting posts on another thread....

I thought I'd understood that the fbh, as factory fitted, only operates when the engine is started. That being so, what was then the point of fitting the pump at all if, as you say, it's only needed when the engine isn't running?

Not having a dig at you btw Harry, just trying to clarify for myself.

Not sure if that will fit onto Rover FBH as the plug socket may foul on the heater body,I think that pump is for fitting away from the heater, there is no plug socket on Rover FBH as the wiring is part of the pump,I may be wrong any ideas..........Tom.

There was an optional fit timer, to start the FBH before the engine started and we think an intended intended option to run the FBH as a 'night heater' - both options would need the electric pump.
