Default Rover 75 CDti Running issues

Hi all, new to the forum and have been having a look around to see if any one else has had these symptoms:

Full tank of diesel, the car will start as normal. Engine runs lumpy for around 3-4seconds then cuts dead. If you hold the revs high it will run a couple of seconds longer fair bit of white smoke then cut out again. Anyone experienced this before?

I have checked both fuel pumps and they are both running. The intercooler seals are gone but I wouldn't have thought this would affect engine running.
I suspect the injectors are at fault but it seems strange for all 4 to go at the same time. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated and also if any one knows of a place to get the injectors overhauled if required in the CH7 postcode.
Many thanks
Phil

Hi Phil

It's the weak point of the common rail ;if you have only one leaky injector.
the common high pressure falls dramatically ..

Do an injector leak back test firstly :

Good luck

I agree with FrenchMike. If even one injector is leaking then the pressure drops in the common rail and the ECU stop the engine from running..

Do an injector leakback test..

The common rail is like a big balloon full of air. When one injector starts leaking, the balloon deflates to the point it cant supply to the other injectors and so shuts the engine down.

Cure the leak and its back to status quo!

Thats how i see it!
