go to halfords buy urself barsleak its in a container shaped like an old radiator i swera by this stuff shake it well and pour it into the top hose of rad or take your thermostat out and pour it into their and fit a new thermostat then fill with water luke warm then run your car bleeding the water system i have run a rover on this stuff after it was loosing water all the time and it still running after 3 years and that no lie i would try this before spending a lot of cash hope this helps

Not that easy on a v6 to run without a stat. Needs a bit more investigation me thinks.

I just removed the filling cap on my car and the level was about 1cm higher than the side high mark on the right hand side of the expansion tank looking from the front, I started my car and the level remained the same all the way up to running temperature i then put the cap on and went for a run, the level went down to between high and low, i presume the pressure caused this as the hoses expanded slightly mind you, the coolant was vacuum replaced by the person above so it was done correctly and i watched.
