Good stuff......but don't park there again!

Unless you have an existing dink you need repairing

Glad it's all sort of sorted. If he is slow in resolving the issue just give me a PM and I'll pop up for a discount on the gassy installation

Bernard
From what you said about the state of his bumper there may be a few people nursing bodyshop headaches due to this old fella's driving. I know it's an awful thing to contemplate, but I don't think he's fit to be in control of a car now. Knowing what you know about him and his driving how would you feel if he had an accident and badly injured himself or someone else? Might be an idea to try and find a way to get him to sit a test. I don't know if a discreet word with the police might help. Like I said it's an awful thing to consider that his driving license and independance might be taken away from him at the age of 90. But the possibility of him and others being injured or possibly killed due to his advancing years and it's effect on his judgement is a serious one to consider. If he has a few bob to his name then he'd still be able to afford taxis to get him about. On the other hand if he sat a driving test and passed then everyone's conscience would be clear. Anyone know how often the test should be taken after the age of 75?

Cheers

Strangely enough I followed him today for about 20 miles. Never seen him on the road when I've been out before. I have to say that his driving was exemplary except that his signalling at roundabouts could have been better. He's not alone there, just about every BMW driver seems the same if not worse. He was making good progress, overtaking safely and with confidence, keeping a good distance from vehicles and not exceeding the various speed limits that we passed through. I don't think he knew it was me behind him as there were a couple of other cars between us.
A bit disappointing in one way but reassuring in another!
His Mazda 6 is quite high backed, no reversing sensors, I'll suggest that next time he buys a new car that he considers these points!

Sounds fair enough.

Get him to buy a 75 with reverse sensors

Out of interest, who's the oldest club member?

Cheers

last time I was at mallory on a test morning there was a very very nice tatty old bugatti type 35 absolutely tearing around, turns out it won the gp multiple times and was owned by all kinds of big names, but still had its original paint etc, anyway, this car is worth a fortune not to mention rare, and being driven round like it was designed to, but not how you'd expect to see, anyway, the guy in it pulled into the paddock and got out/off it! And he was really nice old chap, not sure how old but didnt look much younger than the car! Brilliant! I thought that was fantastic, he says its his grandsons inheritance assuming he doesnt smash it up!
