Your insurer will be able to obtain details of his insurer. When a Renault ran up the side of my Rover 400 while parked and then drove off, myself and the neighbours saw it and got the number plate.
Police didn't give a toss, despite at least two independent witnesses, all I got from them was a crime number. But my insurer was able to look up the car's insurer from the number plate and follow it up. I got paid out, my insurance wasn't affected, and I never had any direct dealings with the other party.

Happened to me many moons ago. Woman opposite was 40 and her hubby bought her a Porsche 944 for her birthday with 40 roses on the bonnet. When she arrived home from work there was much glee until she reversed it out of her drive straight into the front wing of my Triump Stag and promptly drove off. Went across and spoke to hubby-sorted through insurance. Good job I was looking what was going on. If you have seen it happen or suspect it's happened then personal contact is the only way.

if he is 90 ask if he has taken a new test since he became as you only have a license till your 75 i believe.
if he is a belligerent old NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- he may have ignored the rules then they cops will have something to do for once |

Hopefully it may be all a bit of an anti-climax. I asked him today if he was aware that he had hit our car when he reversed out of his drive. He blustered a bit but it was obvious that he was caught on the hop and tried to deny that he knew that he had.
Tellingly he did not try to deny that he had done it. "What do you want me to do about it?" was his eventual answer. I believe that he is an honourable man even though he is everything that I said before. He is already 90 and in great fear of losing his licence, so I think that I will be OK as also he's not short of a few bob. Incidentally, the rear bumper of his '53 Mazda has so many scuffs that I couldn't pick out the relevant offender! |

Should have added my sincere thanks to you all for giving me the support and confidence to tackle the old ogre. He collapsed into utter charm the minute he realised that he had been rumbled! True to form I guess.
