need to try and get ontop of that car sickness before it sortof becomes the norm! My last dog was car sick when he was a pup, coz he got wound up and excited so I started by putting him in the car while I was tinkering, and on the drive so not going anywhere, then sortof small journeys into the village, then eventually long journeys and now he's fine, he's happy to jump into the car but doesnt expect anything from it so doesnt get excited, no sick anymore!
another of my dogs thinks he's a person and sits up in the back seat with his seatbelt on clipped to the car, just sits there and falls asleep, I got a harness for him that plugs into the seatbelt coz in an accident I think 4 1/2 stone of flying bull terrier would probably hurt! try and make the car boring and normal now though while he's young and he'll not be sick |

This is the correct thing to do. Just let him sit in the car while its on the drive, start off leaving the door open for a while then close it. Do the above for a couple of hours for two or three days or longer if you can. You can also let him have a favourite toy with him or one of you old jumpers or an old sock as long as its not been washed first. It does work  |

Not a good mix!!!
In my case, it's my wife and my 75, not a good mix!
Not the car sick thing, but sheer jealousy, although I don't really see why?

my dog, is a nightmare. he'll happily jump in the car, sit in the footwell, even if were not going anywhere. when it comes to a short drive to a mates house, he'll be fine. go any longer than....... say 3 miles, he'll start crying. if i let him sit on the pass seat with his nose out the window, he'll not make a sound. sit him in the back with someone on their lap, he'll try and eat them or the rear sealbelts!
the boot is an un-used option? |
