This engine is in absolutely everything, it’s a a Peugeot/Citroen number and is very prone to turbo failure........only because of lack of maintenance When it’s looked after properly it’s a cracking engine, plenty low down torque great mpg and fairly tunable

You could buy 10 good 75's or 7 good ZTs for the same money.

That is a god awful car and a money pit. My father had one tried to give it to me. Plastic badly put together piece of NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-. Very small inside and god help you if the cabin temp sensor or other part of the air con fails which is very common and causes the car to pump red hot air all the time. its a dash out job and costs £1000's at an independant "specialist" and more at a main dealer. I know your good with cars Bri but do you really want to spend days removing a dash for a crappy 50p ford part which will fail again?
My Dads was so bad that in the end and after a fight the supplying garage took it back and gave a full refund. Now an S60/S80 or V70 is a different matter all good reliable well built volvos not Ford Foucus in a posh frock that that POS. Erm you might have guessed I dont like that car...........

Tshh. Brian's always had a soft spot for cars with prototype parts. He sees them as a challenge. What fun is it when the car is boringly reliable. He'll never get to use his winter weight t shirt, fixing a car by the side of some road on a lonely moor at my god it's late o'clock. Any way, where's the labradors?

Blow that for a game of soldiers......
After a walk out with the hound yesterday at the beach........
......then looked out of the window this morning Fortunately it appears to be turning to rain, I'm snaffling a slice of toast and enjoying a bucket of coffee. So it's a PSA diesel, my own experiences of diesels built by PSA are shall we say.....very good. It goes without saying, any car I decide to buy will have the oil changed at sensible intervals, something I noted when speaking to a friend with a Mini fitted with an N47 BMW diesel that required timing chain replacement at 60,000 miles. So much for 20,000 mile oil change regime Brian |

PSA diesels are installed in many cars and each size manufactured in the millions - Jaguar, Ford, Volvo, Citroen, Peugeot,......
Overall, very reliable. The 1.6 only suffers when oil changes are neglected. |
