Got a surprise at the chemist. I take loperamide because of the metformin I'm on. Didn't bother the GP about it, just get the generic stuff over the counter, fraction of the price of brand names like Imodium. Anything I can buy cheaply enough over the counter I won't pursue a prescription for. I went to get some today, only had Imodium or prescription stuff, no way I'm paying for Imodium. Then the assistant asked, "do you get free minor ailments?", she could tell by the look on my face I had no idea what she was talking about! Seems I qualify for free "over the counter" medications for minor ailments (never heard of that before), they're issued by the pharmacist same as a prescription and I was rather taken aback to be handed a box of 18 Imodium for nowt.

Cool

Morning all.

Grey and overcast at the moment.

Still house hunting, made 2 offers yesterday and both turned down as the seller wants the full amount.

I would be checking that out sharipsh! If it is made from the same plastic as our filter housing the lowest melting point is 240 deg c!!!

Default Spring has definitely sprung

Over the last two days, I've seen the first butterfly (Red Admiral I think?). loads of ladybirds and a few buzzing bees too.

I'm going train sim driving shortly these two are snoring their heads off behind me

We had a roast pork dinner for tea, first meal I've enjoyed since getting my appetite back.

Ditto! I saw a red admiral in the garden today too this afternoon and I've been watching a blackbird flying back & forth making a nest in the laurel tree. Spring is in the air.

Ok, I have "something" living (tunnelling) under a walled section of the garden. There's a hole, too big for mice, at the base of a Japanese Holly Bush and other holes appear occasionally. The other holes are dealt with easily enough but the "main" one at the base of the holly bush is inaccessible. I suspected long tails so got a trap, one of those enclosed things with the trigger weighted for long tails, I can't put poison down because of the girls. The trap is baited with Nutella and sunflower seeds, same seeds as in the bird feeders in the same section of garden but all the trap has ever caught is two unfortunate mice. There's a "run" from under the holly bush, along next to the wall to the base of the bird feeder, despite checking during the day and evening I've never seen anything. I considered one of those motion triggered cameras to see what the hell I'm dealing with but prices are a bit high considering it'll probably never be used again!

I'm getting one of those shields that prevents anything climbing the bird feeder pole, maybe whatever it is will move on once it can't get to what is undoubtedly its primary food source.
