Lightbulb Double DIN bezel group buy

Been speaking to Brian again - I think that there could be savings to be made by making a group buy - particularly when it comes to shipping from the US! Plus, there may be a 'bulk-purchase' type discount in the offing...

So if you are interested in one of these (the starting price is about 100 quid - but hopefully we'll be talking about less when it comes down to it), please add your name to this thread

If he can sort it so its like the single fascia but for double i.e. fixing lugs etc... put me down!

Why not send him a single one? then say make it bigger for us! lol

Looks like there are going to be just of the three of us chaps - I'll email Brian to see what he can do for us - but if anyone here would like one, please do add your name to the list

Dave, Commodore, how would you like me to proceed with this?

Brian's asked me whether you want to pre-order.
He also wondered whether you wanted to pay him direct, or whether to do it through me, with me placing a single order, having them all delivered to me and for me to then post it on to you (which I think would probably work out cheaper in terms of shipping?)

My guess is that you'd probably like to be sure that the bezel fits well in the car before committing?

Here's Geraint trial fitting the bezel:

I'm wondering whether we can alter the profile of the thing a little for an even neater fit?

What are the dimensions of that aperture? Searching a little gives me 182x112 mm WxH for a Kenwood double din unit - does that sound about right?

A suitable 7" screen for my iRover project would be something like this

http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/44

or

http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/601

Both seem to have 154x93 mm displays with 199x125 and 182x129 mm respectively cases.

My real question being: Is there room on the backside of the facia to mount a display case of those dimensions tight?

/Erik

Unfortunately in that form it is no good - there's no lip to anchor the cage to.

I would need one with a lip in order to secure a standard double DIN cage in place.

Cheers

I noticed that when I posted the picture here. I don't know how Brian mounts the head unit cage? But I shall certainly ask him!

Erik, what is the depth of the monitor? I would *think* it would fit okay.

First one: 199x125x41 mm

Second one: 184x129x32 mm

Display should be: 154 x 93 mm
