Default A front seat/airbag question

Hi all, I've a ZT 2004 saloon and the seats were a bit tired so upgraded to alcantara.

Have come to fit the fronts today and now, as suspected, have an airbag lamp on.

I'm fairly confident I have the pretensioner wiring correct as I could work out the colours, however the connector blocks have already been cut out on my old seat and my new one for the side airbags.

What's confused me is both wires for the side airbag are blue?! So my question is how do I know which way round they go?

I've obviously gotten it wrong once as the light is now on, although they are temporarily connected with the plan being once I knew which wires were what they'll be soldered in.

Will the airbag lamp reset itself after a certain number of key turns with no errors or am I going to need a diagnostic session?

Is it also possible the lamp is just on because I haven't soldered the wires in so it's picking up a resistance?

The blue wires can go either way around, chances are it’s a dodgy connection rather than a wire in the wrong place.
