Afternoon all from a bright, sunny and very warm Midlands.

Quizzie & Bertie have met up for a romp, so she's now dozing on her bed.

Our 20 month old grandson is down for the weekend, so we're off to Twycross Zoo in a little while.

And we're looking after him tonight as son & daughter-in-law are off to an adults only meal with the best man & his wife. And good luck to them. This looking after little ones is exhausting .

Take care.

How is everyone?

Hi Ian, if you come out here and get to the coast, you will find it’s popular with the 70’s plus age group as the Indian Ocean coast is warmer. This appeals to some.

The sea temperatures are around 29C. The house we stay in at the coast has ceiling fans in every room powered by solar and it overlooks the sea. We are hoping to get there once we have the 4x4 fixed. We don’t mind the heat, we are used to it.

Today the mechanic said he has had to replace the glow plugs and the thermostat as the old one was broken. He also said there is water in the fuel and he is having to remove a full tank of diesel and flush out the radiator. It’s possible the fuel might have been contaminated from when we last filled up.

I was chatting to a nephew who got caught up in a traffic jam at a roundabout here at night. He heard a tap on the window of the Landy he was driving. When he rolled the window down to speak to the guy tapping, the guy leaned in and tried to bite my nephew’s ear. The nephew had a taser under his seat and used it on the thug’s mouth. The thug got such a shock giving my nephew the chance to get away. It’s the first time I have heard of thugs/robbers biting motorists, a new low.

How are you?

Weather is following the same pattern as the last few days, dreich in the morning then baking in the afternoon.

Thai green chicken curry with Jasmine rice (neither of us like Basmati) planned for later.

Yeah me too, I can eat a jar full at a sitting
These are really nice eating.
I've got another lot that's not quite ready yet called Chioggia, the striped variety.

Afternoon Phil, A nice warm ocean sounds good, I cant remember the last time I dipped my toes into the sea, I just find the heat oppressive & really uncomfortable, My Mam tells me I've always been the same since childhood.

Blimey! I was just reading something about that today! A chap in a pickup truck had the bed full of big rocks he'd collected from the highway because the thieves laid them there to slow down or stop cars to rob them, One of the comments said this robber leaned into the open window and bit the drivers ear https://imgur.com/gallery/xaAVODP

We're having a 'ping meal' tea of chicken korma & rice, I couldn't be bothered cooking owt after doing those beetroot this afternoon. Going to have an ice cold Henry shortly to cool down, It's still close & muggy here, The weathers going to change overnight with weather warnings out for thunderstorms from 6:00am tomorrow Looks like a wet day on the cards.
