Saloon Roof Bar Keys Lost
Hi,
Finally got my ZT back on the road again. 2003 diesel Saloon with only 160k and still running really well. I have a set of official roof bars but have lost the keys in a house move. Was wondering if anyone has had any success in any of the online places that claim to be able to replace lost keys or any other ideas. Thanks for all the help this forum has provided over the years. |

If you have a good "old fashion" locksmith shop near you - not a chain store type operation, they should be able to order keys for nearly any lock.
We used to use one near where I worked to order lost desk / filing cabinet keys from the number stamped on the lock. |

Another possible solution maybe post up the number of the key you need, it's stamped on the outer of the lock, and someone maybe able to lend you a key you can then get copied.
Provided of course you promise to return their original. |

Brilliant thanks for all the info Steve! I'll investigate my local locksmiths. I was having a look online as replacement keys are readily available for most roof-bars but I'm not sure who made the OEM roof-bars. I assume It would be Thule or something similar.
The lock has 27 on it. If any other member has one I would happily buy a copy from them. |

The Ronis information is looking hopeful! I found this on ebay and It looks similar to my memory of the key so I'm tempted to grab one and see how it goes. Thanks again steve.
Ronis Key wullie There is a fair chance this ebay one won't fit so I really appreciate your help! |

If you go to a decent locksmith giving then the information you have, it should be easy, I'm a School caretaker and several times I have been able to get replacement keys using the key number and the manufacturers name plus what it's from.

I ordered the one from ebay. Seems worth a punt. Should arrive on Wednesday so I'll let you know if it works. Hopefully might be helpful if anyone else has trouble in the future.
