They do, but do be careful - grit in the eye at speed can be very painful (not to mention costly at the vets) - and around roads with other traffic throwing up detritus from the road surface there's more of it about than you might think.
Ours would have her head out the window I'm sure, if we let her... and her neck, front paws - swiftly followed by the rest of her if she saw one of those cat things as we passed.
