Default Grita Thurnburg and her friends.

Gotta love being Scottish.
As you may recall a number of our Gritters and snow ploughs have names - most of which can be monitored on this site

There's a company in Derby, not sure what they do, but they have a fleet of Transit vans, some of the names are as follows:

Denise VAN Outen
VAN Morrision
Marlan VANdo
Dick VAN Dyke
Jean Claude VAN dam
there are a few more, but that's all I can remember at the moment.

Some celebrities name their children after where they were conceived, such as Brooklyn Beckham. I wonder if that Liverpool player was going to be called Camper Van Dijk. Been waiting a long time to get that joke out.

Found a real Van man with talent, character, super- coolness itself, and serious grit. Steve Van Zandt.

Sorry for the mini-revival.

We are now regaled by the tacit validation of Thurnburg's gospel by the national treasure David Attenborough.

It seems tremendous efforts are being made to get the world on board using experts in fields other than pure climate science and by those who presumably are deemed to carry much influence.

On the other hand, there is a complete absence of real science based experts being paraded like carnival queens on national TV. Well, for a change, a science based rebuttal of dogma from an established (although you could be forgiven for never hearing about it) source try:

www.realscience.com and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaFDkX3G2GI

If you can find in there the criticism of Brian Cox and ‘Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts’ it's well worth a go.

Alternatively, this is total real science based evidence which is conveniently and studiously ignored by current activists in the big lie. If you have doubts then this is most informative but stick with it, it is a science subject which is approached scientifically. It covers a complex subject (although in layman’s terms) and being thorough takes about 10 minutes to read so don’t be tempted to speed read!

Default Australian fires

Terrible situation in Australia right now. Forests are tinder dry and reports of days turned to night due to the smoke. People have died, many have lost their homes.

My family and friends out in Brisbane (not that badly hit) spoke of red sky’s and the constant smell of smoke.

But they also spoke of their Forestry Commission being prevented from carrying out controlled burns to reduce the “fuel load”.

Anger is building against those Protesters that stopped the regular controlled burning that reduced what could burn as well as create Fire Breaks to isolate pockets of fire when they did start.

There is further anger at ABC (Australian Broadcast Corporation) because whilst they covered the story of the Controlled Burn Protesters - ABC has deleted Facebook pages covering this story.

The original stuff has now been retrieved and is doing the rounds on social media to much disquiet and anger. These retrieved reports talk of normal “fuel reduction” burns of many hectares (ha) being stopped by protesters.

One report states that even a small (by Australian standards) controlled burn of 370 ha was stopped by protesters worried about Climate Change such that a small controlled burn of only 9 ha actually took place.

The ABC Gippsland Facebook page and the ABC Facebook page of Nowa Nowa that covered the protests have been deleted.

Australians are asking why Forest Management experts were overruled by a few Climate Change Protesters? The result of this was a significant increase in the “Fuel” levels of the forests with little or no Fire Breaks.

Aussies are also asking why their national Broadcaster ABC is deleting references to the controlled burn protests.
