Tis certainly baltic out there tonight, got the frost heater on in the fan so the pipes don't freeze, and I can't to work tomorrow. Although that will depend on how I feel in the morning, got a bit of a lurgi, started losing my voice on Friday night, was very croaky and hoarse yesterday, and coughed loads through the night, and today. If its icy in the morning, I might just start a bit later, let the temperature outside lift a bit.

Do you reckon the temperature will get warmer Rich? We have a high of 6deg forecast for here tomorrow, I'm sure there will be a minus in front of that for you guys up North.

Forecast for 5°tomorrow, with temperatures rising to 8/10° by Thursday or Friday. Still frozen solid here tonight, but temperature rising by late morning.

We don’t appreciate how lucky we are over here, or when travelling in the EU, for the moment having access to free medical treatment. Have they given you a special diet ? That can help reduce an ulcer. Things like Avocado, honey, kale, broccoli and Sprouts. Stay off the milk though it’s not good for them. If they didn’t look on the tinterweb for NHS diets for ulcer patients.

Ahh my other Doctor in the UK ......

Cheers Nigel and a very good morning to you. We had a mains power cut for 2 nights and days due to the heavy rains and floods, apologies for my delayed reply, still raining, but the sun is trying to get through. Our solar is good only for 24-37 hours.

Fortunately the tests found the gall bladder, pancreas and liver was normal. A hiatus hernia was found, the stomach lining was biopsied in 2 areas. It’s a week to get the results. PSA a blood marker for Prostate Cancer, normal.

Living outside of the EU, there is no entitlement to free health care and there is no welfare state, so no hand outs The 3 nights in hospital was £2,500. Let’s hope the NHS is never privatised or parts of it gets sold off.

I am on a diet the same as you suggested and I am doing my best to build myself back up in case I need to fly to the UK or South Africa for an urgent op to repair the aneurysm with a graft. I am doing my best to try and think positively.

I hope your all okay and keeping warm.
